How would you dance if the days were endless?
Midsommardans
June 20th, 2026
Midsommardans brings performance, creative movement, and artistic dialogues to the sprawling Stockholm Archipelago. Drawing upon Sweden’s unique geography and ephemeral summer beauty, Midsommardans is an artistic appendage of the Swedish joy for light, warmth, and rebirth. We are invested in exploring how dance and music can conjure the tangible joy of Sweden’s long, light-filled days.
Your Questions,
Answered
Where?
In collaboration with Skärgårdstifelsen and Grinda Wärdhus, Midsommardans will take place on the idyllic main field of Grinda. Bring your picnic blankets and sunglasses, and take a seat in front of our outdoor stage with the natural backdrop of Grinda’s unearthly nature.
When?
On June 20th 2026, the day after Swedish Midsommar, two live dance performances will take place on Grinda. One in the day, and a special gala for the endlessly light evening.
What should you expect from Midsommardans?
A little bit of absurdity. A lot of sunlit dance.
Expect an hour long program of old and new: excerpts of timeless classical ballet side by side with cutting edge abstract works. All originally composed, all performed by a renowned group of international and local dancers.
